Build Better Teams — Terms of Sale and Use
Last updated: 17 October 2026
What this covers
These terms are the agreement between KnowThee SA, trading as LeaderInsight (“we”, “us”), and the person or organisation that buys a Build Better Teams team journey (“the customer”). They also set the rules for everyone who uses the service at https://teams.leaderinsight.ai, including invited team members. They cover what you buy and what it costs, promotions, refunds, acceptable use, the AI coaches and the psychometric tools, availability, liability, intellectual property, ending the agreement, and which law applies. BBT is sold to businesses and professionals, not to consumers. How we handle personal data is explained in the separate Privacy Notice.
1. Who we are
KnowThee SA, La Malaz 2a, 1164 Buchillon, Switzerland, UID CHE-319.673.303, registered in the commercial register of the canton of Vaud. Contact: feedback@leaderinsight.ai. Full company details: Company details.
2. Who may buy and use BBT
BBT is for professional use. By buying, you confirm that you are acting for a business, organisation or your own professional activity, and not as a consumer. The Buy button offers a box to confirm this (“For business use: I confirm I’m buying for a business or organisation, not as an individual consumer”). By completing a purchase you accept these terms.
If you buy for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it to these terms. Every user must be at least 18.
3. What you buy
One team journey gives one team access to the Build Better Teams programme, run by the team lead in the app:
- a guided journey of about six weeks (the pace is a recommendation; the lead can go slower or choose units);
- the journey units: Purpose & Mandate, Team Dynamics, Working Styles, Capabilities & Coordination, Peer Feedback, Handling Disagreement, and a follow-up survey, with their questionnaires and reports;
- facilitation guides and in-app team meetings;
- team dashboards and shared commitments;
- two AI coaches: a team AI coach in the shared team chat, and a 1-on-1 AI coach in a private chat for each member;
- an optional personal Leadership Profile (Big Five questionnaire, or an uploaded Hogan or NEO-PI-R report).
Team size: up to 12 people per team, including the team lead and any facilitator or coach you add. Pending invitations count towards the 12 until they are accepted or expire.
One journey per team: each team journey covers one team. A team lead who wants to run another team buys another team journey. An organisation can buy several team journeys at once on one invoice; we then give each named team lead their own team journey, which they use by signing in with the email address it was given to.
Team members do not pay. Joining any number of teams is free.
We may improve and change features over time, but we will not materially reduce the core journey during a journey you have paid for.
4. Price and payment
The price of one team journey is USD 950, a one-time payment, and includes VAT where VAT applies. Prices are in US dollars, the currency in which we charge.
Payment is taken at checkout by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Your receipt comes from Stripe.
Promotions. We may offer discounts or promotion codes from time to time. Each is subject to the conditions shown with it, can end without notice, has no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged. A journey obtained through a promotion is otherwise identical to a paid one. A promotion that makes a journey free can be used once per person: a further free checkout by the same person (we treat variants of one email address, such as an added “+” tag, as the same person) creates no team and charges nothing.
Founding teams. A founding place is free (the journey, normally USD 950) in return for the founding programme, which the team lead agrees to when the team is created: two debriefs of 30–45 minutes with the founders (at about two weeks and at the end), the lead’s three-question team rating at the start and at the end, and a two-minute member survey at the end. Taking part in any survey stays voluntary for team members. Whether we may describe the team’s results in case studies is a separate, optional choice (see the Privacy Notice).
5. After the journey: continued access
Your team has full access to the app and its results for ten weeks from the day the team is created (six weeks for the journey, four more to keep using it). After that, continued access is optional at USD 500 per year per team (VAT included), paid once for 12 more months. It is never charged automatically: nobody is charged without choosing it, and it does not renew by itself.
- Who can buy it. The team lead (or a co-lead), from the app. We remind the lead in the app and by email two weeks before full access ends, and again when it has ended.
- When it starts. Bought before full access ends, the 12 months start when the current period ends, so no days are lost. Bought afterwards, they start on the day of payment.
- Without it. The team keeps its data and everyone can still read and download the team’s results, reports, meeting records and commitments, and write to each other in the team chat. New surveys, reminders, meetings, the follow-up, sharing files in the team chat and the team AI coach are paused. A meeting already open can be finished. A person’s 1-on-1 AI coach and private uploads pause only when none of their teams has full access.
- Deletion. Data is still deleted only under the retention rules in our Privacy Notice, not because continued access was not bought.
6. Refunds
- Within 14 days of purchase, if the team has not started, you can ask for a full refund by writing to feedback@leaderinsight.ai. The team has started once any survey has been launched or an AI coach has been used in a chat.
- After the team has started, or after 14 days, payments are not refundable, except where we seriously fail to provide the service and do not put this right within a reasonable time after you tell us. In that case we refund a fair share of the price.
- Journeys obtained free through a promotion are not refundable, because nothing was paid.
- Continued access (section 5) is not refundable, except where we seriously fail to provide the service as above.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method. When we refund, the team journey is withdrawn.
7. Your account
You sign in with a one-time email link or with Google. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Tell us at once if you think someone has used your account.
8. The team lead’s responsibilities
The person who creates a team is the team lead. The lead (and, if different, the customer) is responsible for:
- inviting only people who have agreed to take part, using work email addresses they are entitled to use;
- telling team members, before they start, what the journey involves and what the team will see (the Privacy Notice explains this, and the app shows it);
- making sure participation is voluntary and that nobody is penalised for their answers, for not answering, or for leaving;
- following any rules of their own organisation, including consulting employee representatives where required, before using the service with employees;
- removing people who should no longer be on the team.
The lead cannot see individual answers, Peer Feedback reports, private chats or personal profiles, and must not try to identify who gave a particular answer or comment.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use BBT to make decisions about hiring, selection, promotion, pay, discipline or dismissal (see section 11);
- upload or post anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing or discriminatory, or other people’s confidential information without permission;
- upload health information, or other special categories of personal data, about yourself or anyone else;
- try to identify anonymous respondents, access other people’s data, get round the privacy thresholds, or test, probe or overload the service without our written permission;
- use the AI coaches to produce content unrelated to your team’s development, or try to make them reveal information they are designed not to share;
- copy, resell, or build a competing product from the service, its questionnaires, reports or guides;
- share your sign-in with others or let someone use the service in your name.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules, telling you why where we can.
10. The AI coaches
The AI coaches (the team AI coach and each member’s 1-on-1 AI coach) generate answers automatically from the information available to them in BBT. Their answers may be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate for your situation. They support reflection; the team makes its own decisions. They are not professional, psychological, medical, legal, financial or employment advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional. If you or someone on your team is in distress, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.
11. Psychometric tools are for development only
The questionnaires, profiles, reports and peer feedback in BBT are designed for team and personal development conversations. They must not be used, alone or with other information, for hiring, selection, promotion, pay, performance rating, discipline or dismissal decisions. Team reports use thresholds that are still being validated. Results describe how people answered at one point in time; they are not a diagnosis or a measure of anyone’s worth.
12. Availability
We provide BBT “as is” and “as available”. We make reasonable efforts to keep it running and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may pause it for maintenance, preferably at quiet times. We do not offer a service level agreement.
13. Intellectual property
We (or our licensors) own the service, its software, questionnaires, reports, guides, designs and the LeaderInsight and Build Better Teams names. During your access we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your team’s internal development. You may download and share reports and guides within your team and your organisation.
You keep the rights to what you and your team write and upload. You grant us the right to store and process it only to provide the service to you and your team, as described in the Privacy Notice. We do not use your content to train AI models. We may use anonymised, aggregated answers, from which no person or team can be identified, to improve and validate the questionnaires.
The Big Five questionnaire uses items from the public-domain International Personality Item Pool (IPIP). Hogan and NEO-PI-R are trademarks of their owners; we are not affiliated with them.
14. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence (Art. 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations).
Otherwise:
- our total liability arising from these terms or the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and USD 250;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data that you could have saved, or decisions made on the basis of reports or the AI coaches;
- we are not liable for the content that users write or upload, or for how a team lead or organisation uses the service.
You are responsible for your use of the service and for the people you invite. The customer will indemnify us against claims by third parties arising from a breach of section 8 (the team lead’s responsibilities) or section 9 (acceptable use).
15. Ending the agreement
You can stop using BBT at any time and delete your account under Account & billing → Delete my account. Ending your use does not entitle you to a refund except under section 6.
We may end or suspend access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering BBT for reasons other than your breach, we will give at least 60 days’ notice, let you download your reports, and refund a fair share of any fees paid for access you will not receive.
16. Your data when the agreement ends
When a person deletes their account, their private data is erased immediately. Their contributions to a team (survey answers in team reports, peer-feedback ratings and comments given to teammates, meeting notes, team chat messages and commitments) stay with the team without your name, as described in the Privacy Notice. All of a team’s data is deleted automatically 24 months after the team’s last activity, after an email warning. A team lead can delete the team; we keep its data for 30 days, then delete it. Payment records are kept as accounting law requires, and deleted data remains in backups until they expire (7 days). Use the “Download PDF” buttons to keep any reports you want.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. For changes that affect you materially, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they apply, unless the change is required by law. The terms in force when you bought apply to that purchase. Continuing to use BBT after a change takes effect means you accept it.
18. General
These terms and the Privacy Notice are the whole agreement between us about BBT. If a provision is invalid, the rest still applies. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it to a company that takes over the service, with notice to you. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
19. Law and courts
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts of the canton of Vaud, with venue in Lausanne, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction.
